What you'll need: Black eyeliner, yellow shadow, beige shadow, a darker brown shadow, black shadow, a light frosty shadow. Time: 10 minutes.

step one
Line along upper lash line in black, extending line up and beyond outer corner. Smudge outward with a pointed cotton swab. Brush yellow shadow (we used Christian Dior Sunny Yellow from the 020 compact here; $49.50; ) onto brow bone and inner lid.

step two
With a brush, apply a beige shade (in photo: Dior Beige Brown, 710 compact; $49.50) in crease and toward outer edge. Brush beige shade along lash line, over liner and up toward outer edge. Use a swab to blend edges up and out. Add darker brown shadow (here, Bobbi Brown Rich Brown; $17; at department stores or at bobbibrown.com) to outside corner of the eye. Use fingers to blend into the crease.

step three
Line upper lashes again (here, Lancôme Artliner Precision Point Eyeliner in Brown; $24.50; at department stores or lancome.com). Use a fine brush to apply black shadow on top of line. Blend. Curl lashes; apply mascara. Add a light, frosty shadow just beneath lower lashes. Blend.
