At my mum (her 65) already about a year as the hearing on one ear was gone. Instead of it or this in this ear in the beginning there was a sound of pulse which then has passed in whistling continuous hum. She hears hum all time not ceasing is louder is more silent. The doctor has told or said, is what is it connected with irreversible changes in a nerve and it is impossible to cure. I shall be very grateful to advice or council how to get rid of hum, and if it is possible or probable, to return hearing. Thanks.
